John Denver is a popular musician and singer who has touched many people by his lyrics. Many of these have roots in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell, New Mexico. He fell in love Colorado and moved to Aspen. Many people traveled through Colorado due to Denver's famous songs for his home state. G. Brown the curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame said the following: John Denver was by far one of the most well-known performers who embodies Colorado. In 2011 Denver was chosen as the Hall of Fame's very first inductee. He is now the international face of Colorado. You meet people in different countries, such as New Zealanders, and they tell them "I come originally from Colorado" And they reply by saying Oh John Denver. Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads was one of Denver's top 10 hits after performing with small folk bands. The song was written and performed by Bill Danoff. Danoff wrote the song in conjunction with Johnny Cash in mind but after Denver heard an early version immediately, he realized it was destined to be a hit single. He recorded it just a few days following performing in Washington D.C. before an large crowd who were very appreciative.
